The study followed 17,337 middle class adults for 20 years, matching adult well-being, disease status, and premature death against 10 categories of common, but typically unrecognized, adverse life experiences in childhood and adolescence. CAMFT PAC Fundraiser Luncheon's guest speaker is Jessica Jackson Sloan, JD, co-founder (with Van Jones, CNN commentator) of #Cut50, a national initiative to end mass incarceration. Come learn how California prisons have become our states largest “mental health provider” and how MFTs can play a vital role in helping incarcerated youth, adults, and their families, with new approaches to safety and rehabilitation. Jessica travels all over the country advocating for incarceration reform and launched the Day of Empathy project with Van Jones, a national day of action to generate empathy for millions of Americans impacted by the criminal justice system.
