Dear Member:

Due to member demand, supervision self-study tests have been created by Richard S. Leslie, J.D. These tests are offered in three parts, with each one providing two hours of continuing education credit. A supervisor, or even a person who is not currently supervising, may take any single test, two tests, or all three tests. The completion of all three tests, which may be purchased as a package, satisfies the requirement for supervision coursework or training for those who are supervising MFT Interns and Trainees.2

Further, this content is unique in that it may also be used to satisfy, when all three parts are completed, the ongoing requirement of six hours of continuing education in Law and Ethics. Those who are contemplating supervision of Interns and Trainees may wish to take the tests to gain a better understanding of whether or not supervising Interns and Trainees is “right” for them, or to prepare them for this important aspect of professional practice. Meeting this requirement in advance of any supervision eliminates the need to act quickly once supervision actually begins.

Like the other tests, this series of continuing education self-assessment tests is sponsored by CAMFT in partnership with Richard S. Leslie, J.D., who created this series at the request of CAMFT. THERE ARE NO PASSING OR FAILING SCORES. Here is how it works.

  1. Take the test by answering true or false to each question.
  2. Take the test online. . There is a $35 charge for the test and you can pay with your credit card by filling in the requested information. Please Note: Once you make your online payment you have five hours available to take the test; after five hours the test will not be available to you online. In order to complete the test you will have to call CAMFT at (888) 892-2638 and request the test be sent to you by fax or e-mail.
  3. CAMFT will send you the answers (including explanations), an evaluation form, and a certificate of course completion. You will earn two hours of self-study CE credits in Law and Ethics.

Don't want to take the test online? Click below for the test in PDF format

  2. Supervision Part II   Receive the test in PDF format
  3. Supervision Part III   Receive the test in PDF format
  4. Print the test, complete the answer sheet and follow the directions to submit the test by mail or fax.
  5. CAMFT will send you the answers (including explanations), an evaluation form, and a certificate of course completion. You will earn two hours of self-study CE credits in Law and Ethics.

Make sure you have included your name and credit card information; the cost of the test is $35. (Take all three tests at the same time and pay a reduced price of $90.00).

  1. CAMFT will send you the answers (including explanations), an evaluation form, and a certificate of course completion. You will earn two hours of self-study CE credit in law and ethics.

There is no need to feel intimidated or embarrassed if you are not confident of the correct answers. You grade yourself. The goal is for you to learn what you know and what you don't know.A review of the evaluation forms submitted by prior test takers indicates unequivocally that participants find the tests to be an effective and valuable learning tool.

Remember, if you enjoy this manner of improving your understanding of legal and ethical issues, you may acquire more than six hours in law and ethics and/or supervision. At this time, you are limited to a maximum of 18 hours in self-study per license renewal period, but that may soon change. If that change takes place, all required hours of continuing education may be gained by what is now referred to as self-study. Contact CAMFT for further information.

We respectfully request that the answer sheet(s) you will receive not be shared without written permission. The tests and answers are copyrighted. We appreciate your understanding and respect for the proprietary nature of this material. We encourage and look forward to your participation.

Sincerely,
Mary Riemersma
Executive Director
