Self-Study Opportunities

CAMFT provides its members with numerous educational opportunities to encourage individuals to stay on the cutting edge of what's happening in the mental health field, as well as to gain hours of continuing education. These opportunities are available to CAMFT members at a discount so get started today with the numerous self-study programs.

  • EBSCOhostGain Continuing Education Hours by Reading Articles From EBSCO Publishing’s Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection™.

  • Practical Applications in Supervision -Gain six (6) hours of continuing education credit by reading Practical Applications in Supervision, answering the accompanying assessment and completing the evaluation form.  Persons seeking units by self-study must return the assessment, evaluation and payment to CAMFT.  CAMFT will provide the participant with verification of completing six (6) hours of continuing education.

  • Self-Study in Supervision -This content is unique in that it may also be used to satisfy, when all three parts are completed, the ongoing requirement of six hours of continuing education in Law and Ethics. Those who are contemplating supervision of Interns and Trainees may wish to take the tests to gain a better understanding of whether or not supervising Interns and Trainees is “right” for them, or to prepare them for this important aspect of professional practice.

  • Read The Therapist magazine -You can gain three (2) hours of continuing education credit by reading The Therapist, answering the accompanying assessment and completing the evaluation form. Persons seeking units by self-study must return the assessment, evaluation and payment to CAMFT. CAMFT will provide the participant with verification of completing three hours of continuing education for each assessment completed per issue of The Therapist.

  • Self-Study in Law and Ethics -These courses meet the qualifications for continuing education credit in law and ethics for LMFTs and LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

  • How to Build a Private Practice - You can gain seven (7) hours of continuing education credit by reading How to Build a Private Practice, answering the accompanying assessment and completing the evaluation form. Persons seeking units by self-study must return the assessment, evaluation and payment to CAMFT. CAMFT will provide the participant with verification of completing seven (7) hours of continuing education.

  • Compendium - Gain six (6) hours of continuing education credit by reading Legal and Ethical Issues: Best Practices, answering the accompanying assessment and completing the evaluation form. Persons seeking units by self-study must return the assessment, evaluation and payment to CAMFT. CAMFT will provide the participant with verification of completing six (7) hours of continuing education.
