Dear Members,

As part of CAMFT’s commitment to excellent customer service, CAMFT has implemented a couple of changes that we want to share with you.

First, CAMFT is sending a customer service survey to members who call the office. If you call to speak to an attorney, you will receive a survey to evaluate the customer service of the Legal Team member with whom you spoke. For all other calls, you will receive a survey to evaluate the customer service of the Member Services staff member with whom you spoke. These surveys started on August 1 and will continue indefinitely in our efforts to evaluate and improve customer service. You should receive the survey about 2 hours after your contact with the CAMFT office. To respect your valuable time, the surveys are brief (1-2 questions) and take less than one minute to complete. Please complete these surveys to help CAMFT evaluate and improve our customer service to you.

Second, CAMFT is testing new phone hours. We have heard from some members about their desire to have the CAMFT phone line open during the lunch hour from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. We are looking at different variations of hours to assess the impact on both customer service provided and operations. For the month of September, the phone line will be available from 8:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m.– 4:30 p.m. (we will be closed for a lunch hour from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.). For the month of October, the phone line will be open from 8:45 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (not closing for a lunch hour). The office will revert to closing from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. in November, as I will evaluate the data on customer service and operations. Our plan is to switch the open call time period in early December to maximize the best customer service and operations.

These steps are the beginning of our processes to evaluate and improve our customer service to you!

California Needs Your Input!

Do you want a say in where dollars for the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) are spent and provide feedback on mental health workforce needs and strategies to address these needs?

California needs your input! The MHSA Workforce Education and Training (WET) program—a program aiming to address the shortage of mental health practitioners in the public mental health system via stipend and loan programs—is beginning the development of the 2020-2025 MHSA WET Five-Year Plan. The California’s Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) will be collecting input with a statewide survey and holding seven regional forums. They are asking stakeholders to join in identifying workforce needs and possible strategies to address these needs.

Please complete the following survey to register for the statewide survey and regional forums. Add your voice to this important issue!

Volunteer for CAMFT's 2018 Fall Symposium

Are you an MFT Associate who is detail oriented and wants to attend CAMFT's 2018 Fall Symposium but are low on funds? Why not volunteer and work side-by-side with CAMFT staff as a room monitor or show runner. Click here to apply, and for additional information, please contact Mary Beth Muro, Education Programs Assistant, at mmuro@camft.org or 858-429-7509. You will be required to complete the credit card information on the form in order to submit a $100 deposit with your application. If you are accepted as a volunteer, your card will be charged, and the deposit will be refunded after successful completion of your volunteer services. If you are a no show or if you cancel after being accepted, this puts CAMFT in a difficult position to try to fill your spot with such short notice, therefore a refund will not be given.
