Dear Members,

Continuing education (CE) is not just about meeting BBS requirements. CE is a way to promote lifelong learning, to which CAMFT is committed to supporting. I am excited about the outstanding CE programs coming your way this fall that I hope you’ll consider!

For those of you who are supervisors, I highly recommend our workshop “Comprehensive Supervision I: The Anatomy of Supervision” presented by Ellen Kinoy, MA, LMFT. This 6-hour session fulfills 6 of the 18 hours of coursework requirement to become a CAMFT Certified Supervisor. In addition, this workshop meets BBS requirements for clinical supervisors each license renewal cycle. This session is on Friday, October 19 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Los Angeles International Airport South. Click here for more information.

LMFTs who work frequently with couples would benefit highly from “Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy for Couples (AEDPfC).”David Mars, LMFT, PhD, and Karen Pando-Mars, LMFT will lead this 3-day workshop that will offer 19.5 hours of CE credit, as well as a certificate of completion. This session will include didactic and roleplaying exercises to provide hands-on training on AEDPfC. This workshop is November 9-11 at the CAMFT Fall Symposium at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport. Click here for more information on this workshop.

The CAMFT Fall Symposium has several other outstanding sessions that you won’t want to miss:

  • “Legal and Ethical Issues in Supervision: Current Standards and Prospective Changes” presented by CAMFT staff attorneys Michael Griffin, JD, LCSW and Anastasia Johnson, JD on November 9.
  • “Couples and Family Therapy: Using Gender, Power, and Social Justice Perspectives” presented by Manijeh Daneshpour, PhD, LMFT on November 10.
  • “Healing Shame: Understand and Transform” presented by Sheila Rubin, LMFT, RDT/BCT, and Bret Lyon, PhD, SEP, BCC on November 10.

You can get more details about all these sessions by clicking here.

If you can’t attend these sessions, you can always look for CE webinars in our Online Learning Library.

I hope you take advantage of these great ways to enhance your education and clinical skills!
