About the CEPA Program

CAMFT is pleased to announce its new Continuing Education Provider Approval (CEPA) program. Since 1964, CAMFT has advanced the profession as an art and a science, maintained high standards of professional ethics, and upheld the qualifications of the profession. CAMFT recognizes its responsibility to assist Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) licensed professionals with identifying and participating in quality continuing education (CE) as a means to ensure practice competence and professional growth.

The CEPA program is recognized by the BBS as an approval agency. As a CEPA Agency, CAMFT has the authority to approve CE providers for Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCC), and Licensed Educational Psychologists (LEP).

CEPA is now accepting applications from CE providers who seek approval with CAMFT. Once approved, CE providers can begin offering coursework for CE credit on or after July 1, 2015.

Benefits of CAMFT Approval

CAMFT approval brings credibility and brand recognition that aligns CE providers with CAMFT's distinguished reputation of upholding the highest standards in continuing education and professional ethics. Brand recognition combined with the ideal target market (of over 31,000 members) gives CAMFT-approved providers a competitive edge!

CAMFT approval assures the training is appropriate for LMFT, LCSW, LPCC and/or LEP professional development and is suitable for BBS license renewal.

As a benefit of becoming approved, CE providers will receive the following:

  • A listing on CAMFT’s Approved Provider Directory with CE provider’s contact information and links to their website
  • Authorization to use the official CAMFT-approved logo on all promotional materials
  • The ability to post unlimited listings to promote CE programs to the public on CE Finder
