Quick Tips to Maximize Your CAMFT Conference Experience

Weather and Attire

Early May temperatures in Los Angeles averages to be 74F/high and 56F/low and is typically “breezy.” In meeting rooms, the temperatures will be too cool to some and too warm to others—please bring a sweater or wrap and perhaps “layer” clothing.

Registration Hours and Location

The Conference will be held for the most part on the Ballroom level of the hotel, which is down TWO floors from the lobby as the lobby at the Marriott LAX is actually their 2nd floor! The CAMFT Registration desk is in the Foyer on the Ballroom level (“B” is for ballroom if you’re using the hotel elevators). Once at the ballroom level: If you are pre-registered for the Conference, please pick-up your name badge, bag with Conference materials, and a listing of workshops with their meeting room assignments at the Registration window. If you need to register for the Conference, please see CAMFT staff at the “At-Door Registration” desk (see sign).

Registration Hours are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Sunday from 6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Name Badge—Itinerary—Tickets

You will receive your name badge in an envelope. This envelope lists all of the sessions in which you have indicated you wish to participate. If you need to make any changes, please see CAMFT staff at the At-Door Registration desk. There is a ticket for all luncheon workshops and the finale presentation. Please look through your envelope to make sure you have all that you need!

The Conference Proceedings Manual

While we tried to “Go Green” last year, it was overwhelmingly preferred to the Proceedings Manual on CD. Also, you will note that some presenters prefer to bring their own handouts to only those who registered for their sessions. Some presenters also wanted to offer attendees “Post-Conference” (as well as Pre-Conference) materials which will be available on the CAMFT website until June 30, 2008. www.camft.org

CAMFT Conference Book Store and Taping Company

CAMFT utilizes the services of The Self Esteem Shop to hold a book store during the Conference and Master Duplicators to audio record sessions (where presenters have approved to be audio recorded). We are certain that you will enjoy their quality products!
Please visit Harry and Dee Dee at the Self Esteem Shop and Terry and Chase at Master Duplicators!

Need to Relax or Take a Time-Out During the Conference?
Visit “The Get Away Room,” which will be open from 9 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

Or, join in for morning Tai Chi and/or Yoga. Sure, it’s early, but you’ll be so happy you did it! For Thursday attendees, please meet Tai Chi instructor Betty Lue Lieber at the pool by 6:30 a.m. For Yoga attendees, please meet Amy Weintraub in the Philadelphia room (B for Ballroom level).
