Wondering About Autism: Creating a Dialogue Out of
Controversy (FR9)
Friday, May 2, 2008
2:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. (3 CE Hrs.), *CD Available

Mystery and controversy surround the etiology and clinical work with children diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Although the etiology is unknown , the majority of professionals working in this field consider autism to be a neurological disorder. This workshop will explore these current perspectives along with other controversial viewpoints, introduce an alternative perspective on Autism called “an incomplete attachment,” and finally will broaden our perspectives by using Autism to inform our understanding of psychological development. (*CD of workshop available for purchase, see page 16 for details.) Dr. Karen Savlov is a licensed MFT working with children and adults.
