10:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. (5 CE Hrs.)
*CD Available

We now understand that all psychiatric disease is the result of biopsychosocial factors. Effective and successful treatment of Mood and Anxiety Disorders consequently requires effective address of all etiological factors. All psychotherapists are now required to have a basic under standing of the biological aspects of mental illness, including the use of appropriate medications. You will learn what the psychotherapist must know today to practice state of the art biopsychosocial treatment of Depression, Bipolar, Anxiety, Panic, Obsessions, Compulsions and Eating Di s o rders. We will discuss the Pr a c t i c a l Psychopharmacology of these disorders, including Points and Pearls about the different medications, their indications and side effects to more accurately assess and successfully co-manage these patients. Working with psychiatrists/ physicians can be very stressful for many psychotherapists and co-management is fraught with potential pitfalls, but also with opportunities for success. You will learn the Seven Keys to Successful Co-Treatment. We will learn using cases to illustrate the points—cases from your practice and from mine. (*CD of workshop available for purchase, see page 16 for details.)
