Participation in a retreat where you can make a conscientious, personal investment in mindfulness practice is a very precious gift to give yourself. • To feel more alive and reduce stress in your professional and personal life.
  • To cultivate high-level wellness and well-being through mindfulness and compassion.
  • The powerful influence of mindfulness training on mind /body.
  • To become more skillful at recognizing and regulating personal psycho/ physiological arousal states.
  • To deal with emotional wounds from a context of deep awareness and self-compassion.

Date: March 1, 2007
Cost: $149 ($129 for FAPA members)
Register: lbassman@alliant.edu

Integrative and holistic approaches to psychological healing must consider the full range of human experiences. However, bringing spirituality into the psychotherapy setting can be controversial and carries certain risks. This workshop addresses this important issue and also focuses on: the dynamics of toxic religious experiences, spiritual woundedness, the impact of a career as a healer and one’s own spirituality, the positive aspects of religion and spirituality on mental and physical health, the role of projection and object relations in the formation of destructive religious practices, how belief systems can either foster or undermine the emergence of the “true self” and practical strategies for addressing spiritual issues into the practice of psychotherapy.
