CAMFT Members in the Media
May/June 2010

CAMFT’s public relations campaign is off to a great start in
2010! A number of CAMFT members have been working with our public
relations firm, Porter Novelli, to raise awareness of Marriage and
Family Therapists, the broad range of issues MFTs treat, and
TherapistFinder.com. The following CAMFT members were featured in print
and broadcast media commenting on or discussing mental health issues and
TherapistFinder.com.

East Bay
Ronald Mah was featured in media coverage about his
appearance at the 34th annual “Parents are Teachers Too”
conference. Ronald spoke about managing adolescent behaviors at the
conference.

San Gabriel
Valley
Dr. Vondie Lozano was a special guest on the KSGV Radio
show, “Shelf Talker,” on January 30. Vondie was interviewed
about her Singles Seminars at the Glendora Village Book Shop and
“How to Not Make the Same Mistake”
again.

Orange County
Dianna Troutt authored an article for “Ask the
Expert” in the March edition of Parenting Orange County. Dianna
provided advice for talking with your teen about an eating disorder and
common warning signs.

Sacramento
Dr. Stephen Grinstead was quoted in a February 15 article in
the Sacramento Bee. The article, “Posting Your Relationship Status
on Facebook Has Its Pitfalls” addressed potential obstacles facing
relationships related to social media. It was reprinted on February 20
in the Modesto Bee.

Lisa Brookes Kift authored an article on therapists using
social media. The article, “Therapists, Social Networking and
Blogging, Oh My!” was published on www.PsychCentral.com on March
11.

Helen Worster provided advice for “Ask the
Expert” in the March issue of Sacramento Parent. She offered tips
for mothers going back to work after recently having a child.

San Francisco
George Taylor placed an article on couples work in the
online journal, WiseBrain.org. He described the power of using
intentions with couples, in sessions, and current research on the power
of intentions.

Wendy Benway offered tips for reconnecting with your
partner for “Ask the Expert” in the February issue of
Sacramento Parent.

In other public relations activities, CAMFT distributed a media
release entitled, “Valentine’s Day: It’s Not Just for
Lovers,” on February 10. The release was picked up by more than
200 online media outlets, including the San Francisco Business Times,
Los Angeles Business Journal and San Jose Business Journal. You can find
