throughout the year. Please contact CAMFT for details! Accepted articles

Become a CAMFT Media
Representative
Do you have experience working with the media? Have you been interviewed
on television, radio or for a newspaper or magazine? Then you may be a
good fit for CAMFT’s statewide media relations program. As part of
this program, CAMFT’s public relations agency coordinates
interviews for media representatives about newsworthy mental health
topics. Representatives also have the opportunity to write responses to
parenting magazine “Ask the Expert” questions. Media
representatives should fit the following criteria:
- Live and/or work in the Bay Area, Sacramento, San Diego, Los Angeles
or Orange County.
- Have experience with and enjoy working with the media.
- Have flexibility to accommodate short media interviews into their
weekday schedules, as needed.
If you are interested in being a media representative, please e-mail
past media clips and/or a description of your media experience to marketing@camft.org.
Be a Mentor or a Mentee
The purpose of this program is to unite licensed and
prelicensed/newly licensed members in order to assist prelicensed or
newly licensed members with general questions concerning the profession
and relevant issues. If you are interested in becoming a mentor or
mentee, please e-mail Michele Hyson at mhyson@camft.org.
Become a Member of a Chapter and
Volunteer Locally
Are you interested in volunteering in your local area? CAMFT has
29 chapters throughout California with lots of volunteer
opportunities! These volunteer opportunities range from short-term
to serving on a committee or board of directors. Click here to find information
about a local chapter. Volunteering at the local level is a great
way to network and get to know therapists and other professionals in
your area.

- CAMFT’s Facebook Page and
CAMFT’s LinkedIn Group: CAMFT has a
“group” on LinkedIn as well as a “page” on
Facebook. The purpose of creating such is for professional growth,
advancement, and collaboration. LinkedIn and Facebook are free, online
networks. Since these networking sites are not private, go to LinkedIn
and/or Facebook to see if these social networking opportunities are
right for you. Note: Although LinkedIn and Facebook can be great
resources for social networking, we discourage members from forming
internet relationships with their clients, based on the doctrine of dual
relationships.
