As a feature of CAMFT’s member services, Howard Feigenbaum, Aflac agent, can answer your questions and help you apply for Aflac insurance policies. Call Howard at 1-888-888-3295 or e-mail him at howard_feigenbaum@us.aflac.com Read the interview below to learn more about the service Howard provides. Q: What is Aflac and how long has it been in business? A: Aflac (American Family Life Assurance Company of Columbus) was founded in 1955 by brothers John, Paul, and Bill Amos. Aflac is a leader in voluntary insurance products that pay cash benefits to policyholders as directed and insures over 40 million people worldwide. Aflac is a leader in guaranteed-renewable insurance products sold at the worksite in the United States. Aflac’s more that 69,000 licensed agents sell its insurance policies through more than 370,000 U.S. payroll accounts. Q: How does Aflac differ from other companies who offer this same type of plan? A: Aflac places a high priority on customer service and claims. Most claims are processed within four days. Our policies are guaranteed-renewable, portable at the same payroll rates, and have no deductibles or copayments. Aflac’s cancer policy has never been increased by one premium dollar. Q: What are the merits of applying for Aflac's coverage? A: In case of accident or illness, Aflac insurance policies pay cash benefits directly to you, unless assigned. Our policy benefits are paid regardless of any other insurance you may have. The policy benefits can be used to help pick up the expenses traditional major medical plans are not designed to cover, such as deductibles and copayments, out-of-network charges, and out-of-pocket expenses like mortgage/rent payments, car notes, and utility bills. Aflac’s Cancer policy includes a Cancer Screening Wellness Benefit that pays cash benefits when you receive cancer-screening tests such as PSA blood tests or breast ultrasounds. Q: What if I have had cancer in the past? A: If your doctor completes a Cancer History Form and states that you have been cancer-free and treatment-free for ten years, Aflac will review the application for approval. Q: Am I eligible if I am diagnosed with cancer shortly after the policy is in force? A: Any diagnosis for a covered internal cancer made after the policy has been in force for 30 days is eligible for a claims payment. Q: Howard, do you own the cancer policy? A: Yes. I have coverage on my wife and children. Thank you, Howard, for your time. We look forward to working with you and Aflac. Please contact Howard with any questions you may have or to apply. Although we do not always like to talk about cancer, each year it affects many friends and family, and the statistics are rising. We hope you will find this type of policy valuable. We strive to work with companies that have our members’ best interests in mind and that provide exceptional service. We believe Aflac is such a company. CAMFT extends our appreciation and thanks to Howard and Aflac. |
