Educational Foundation Scholarships

Effective August 2016, applicants for the CAMFT Educational Foundation scholarships and grant are subject to a lifetime limit of two (2) awards.

CAMFT Educational Foundation Increases Scholarships to $4,000 Each!

The California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists Educational Foundation is offering three scholarships and one grant in 2017 to deserving candidates. Each scholarship awarded will be in the amount of $4,000. The grant award is discretionary and will be in the amount of up to $2,500. The selected recipient of each scholarship/grant will be recognized at the CAMFT 53rd Annual Conference in May 2017.

To apply, please select the ONE scholarship/grant that is most appropriate to your work or studies based on the minimal qualifying criteria listed below. If you apply to more than one, NONE of your submissions will be considered. Once you have made your selection, click on the link to download and complete the application packet and guide for that specific scholarship/grant.

Ronald D. Lunceford Scholarship

 Applicant must be:
     -  Member of an ethnic or racial minority
     - Enrolled in an approved or accredited program leading to a degree which meets the requirements of 
       Sections 4980.37, 4980.40, and 4980.41 of the Business and Professions Code.
                                 OR
     - Pursuing an advanced degree or certification beyond the qualifying degree for the license.

Clinton E. Phillips Scholarship

Applicant must be: 
      - Enrolled in an approved or accredited program leading to a degree which meets the requirements of 
        Sections 4980.37, 4980.40, and 4980.41 of the Business and Professions Code.
                              OR
      - Pursuing an advanced degree or certification  beyond the qualifying degree for the license.

Educational Foundation Grant 
Applicant must be:
     -  A licensed practitioner, student, graduate, or intern of marriage and family therapy planning to conduct 
        or currently conducting research or engaging in a training, project, or activity that will enhance the 
        profession of marriage and family therapy or a related field.

Educational Foundation Scholarship/Grant recipients are encouraged to attend the CAMFT Annual Conference to receive the scholarship/grant award. Recipients will receive reimbursement for reasonable cost of transportation to the conference, and either a complimentary full conference registration (four days) or a one-day conference registration.

It is not mandatory that one be a member of CAMFT to receive one of these scholarships or grant. However, preference may be given to applicants who have expressed their commitment to the profession through membership in CAMFT. The Scholarship will be awarded at the 53rd Annual Conference in May 2017.
