Robbyn Peters-Bennett, CMHS, LMHC, MA, LPC, is a psychotherapist practicing
in Portland, Oregon. Her approach is grounded in the depth tradition, having
studied at Pacifica Graduate Institute and North Pacific Institute for Analytical
Psychology. Ms. Peters-Bennett is a trainer of Child Trauma Academy’s
Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, a neurodevelopmental lens for assessing
traumatized children. Ms. Peters-Bennett lectures nationally on child maltreatment.
Her TEDx talk links socially condoned violence (spanking) with family violence,
bullying, and child abuse. Ms. Peters-Bennett founded StopSpanking.org, an
online neurodevelopmentally informed parenting resource, and is vice president
of the U.S. Alliance to End the Hitting of Children leading the movement to
ban spanking in the US.
