OPEN CLINICAL DIRECTOR-AT-LARGE POSITION
2023-2025 TERM

CAMFT is looking for volunteers to apply to fill the following Board of Directors vacancy: Clinical Director-at-Large for the 2023-2025 term. The appointed candidate will serve until May 31, 2025 and will be expected to attend the following events:

Board of Directors Meetings (Mandatory)

  • September 9-10, 2023 - Pasadena, CA
  • December 2-3, 2023 – Indian Wells, CA
  • March 2-3, 2024 – Sacramento, CA
  • June 2024, September 2024, December 2024, March 2025 – Locations TBD

Impromptu Special Board Meetings (Attendance Expected)

On occasion, there are impromptu board meetings on various unexpected topics or issues. These are generally via Zoom except in incredibly unusual circumstances.

CAMFT Board Retreat (Mandatory)

  • Likely one to two (1-2) Board Retreats (Content TBD; Location TBD)

CAMFT Conferences and Meetings (Mandatory)

  • CAMFT Fall Symposium (Fall 2024/Location TBD)
  • CAMFT Leadership Conference, February 2-3, 2024 at the Sheraton Gateway Los Angeles, CA. (2025 Date/Location TBD)
  • CAMFT’s Annual Conference (Spring 2024 and Spring 2025/Location TBD)
  • CAMFT’s Annual Membership Meeting (hosted at Annual Conference)
  • CAMFT Board Orientation (Spring 2024/Location TBD)

CAMFT Lobbying Trips (Mandatory)

  • Sacramento Lobby Day, Sacramento (2024 and 2025)
  • Washington DC Lobby Days, Washington DC (Spring 2024 and Spring 2025)

Limitations on Candidates Who May Apply

  • Only Clinical members of CAMFT may apply.
  • Only those with an LMFT license (and no other licenses) are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must have been voting members of CAMFT for at least two years prior to taking office, or have been a Pre-Licensed member and voting member consecutively for at least two years immediately prior to taking office. (See CAMFT Bylaws, Article VI, Section C(2)).
  • No person shall run for any position on the Board of Directors nor shall a person be appointed to any position on the Board of Directors, if such person, in serving out his or her present elected or appointed term, will have served on the Board of Directors for four (4) consecutive years or more, whether by appointment or election. (See CAMFT Bylaws, Article VI, Section C(3)).
