Effective Treatment of The Narcissistic Personality Disorder
(2 CE hours)

There is an increasing prevalence of individuals diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Throughout the psychotherapeutic field and literature it is considered extremely difficult, if not impossible to treat this form of developmental arrest. This workshop provides the rationale and construction of a therapeutic approach designed to effectively access the arrested Narcissistic defensive structure and promote individuation toward true change.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will:

  • Identify the three main constituents of Interpretations designed to access the Narcissistic Personality structure.
  • State four reasons for the use of these interpretations
  • Identify at least five common central themes expressed in the verbalized experience of Narcissistic patients.
  • Identify and implement two central techniques for effectively delivering Empathic Affective Mirroring Interpretations to the patient.
