2022 - 2023 BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTIONS

Dear Member: 

Thank you for your interest in running for a position on the CAMFT Board of Directors. We appreciate your willingness to volunteer your leadership services to CAMFT.    

ABOUT THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS 

Governing Board 

The CAMFT Board is a “governing” board. A governing board helps create the vision, mission, values, and policies for the organization and ensures that the principles and finances are properly respected. The Board, itself, does not actively run programs and services.

OPEN POSITIONS FOR THE 2022-2023 CAMFT BOARD 
Term of office begins June 1, 2022 for the following positions: 

 ELIGIBILITY 
Per the CAMFT Bylaws, Article VI, Section C(2) and C(3), 

  • Clinical members who wish to be placed on the ballot by petition must have been a voting member of CAMFT for at least two years upon taking office, or must have been a Pre-Licensed member and voting member consecutively for at least two years immediately prior to taking office. 
  • The Pre-licensed Director-at-Large must be elected by and from the Pre-licensed membership, thus the candidate must be a Pre-licensed member at the time of application and CAMFT Board of Directors elections. The candidate must also have been a Pre-licensed member for at least 6 months upon taking office. Once elected, the Pre-licensed Director-at-Large shall be eligible to complete said term if there is a change in the category of membership held. 
  • No person shall serve on the Board for more than four consecutive years, except that a person who has served four years may run for President-Elect. 

BOARD MEMBER TIME COMMITMENT 
As a Board member, you will be expected to attend the following, Please note, there is a possiblity some of the following commitments and meetings will be virtual.: 

  • Quarterly Meetings (Board meetings begin Saturday morning and end on Sunday afternoon. Board members arrive on the Friday evening prior to participate in “Board-to-Board” receptions with local Chapter leaders.) Please note:  
  • June 3-5, 2022 
  • September 9-11, 2022 
  • December 2-4, 2022
  • March 3-5, 2023
  • 2023 Chapter Leadership Conference – Virtual or Location TBD – Winter, 2023
  • Sacramento Fly-In – TBD 
  • DC Fly-In – TBD 
  • 2023 Annual Conference – Virtual or Location TBD - Spring, 2023 

Additional time commitments include: 

  • Attendance at Chapter meetings, ad needed
  • Interacting with the local offices of state and federal legislators to educate the legislators and staff about the work of LMFTs and CAMFT 
  • 2022 Annual Conference (Incoming Board members are eligible to receive complimentary registration but are responsible for all other associated expenses, as term of office does not begin until June 1, 2022.

Board members are reimbursed for attendance at events per the CAMFT Board and Committee Reimbursement Policy .

Interview 

All applicants must interview virtually with the Nominating Committee. Interviews will be held via Zoom on Friday, November 5, 2021 via Zoom. The slate of candidates will be selected following completion of these interviews.


Petition Process 
If you wish to have your name on the ballot by petition instead of nomination, please follow these guidelines: 

  • Petitions with all signatures must be submitted to the CAMFT Administrative office by 4:30 pm on Monday, January 17, 2022
  • Validity of signatures 
  • All signatures on petitions must have been obtained between April 18, 2021 and January 17, 2022 to be valid.
  • Clinical members must submit a petition with a minimum of 445 signature. (This number represents 2% of the applicable voting membership on April 18, 2021.)
  • Eligibility
