CAMFT Employment Opportunities

Position Title:             Sponsorship and Sales Manager
Hours and Status:      Exempt, Full Time, Salary--Full Benefits plus 401K provided
Reports to:                  Managing Director of Clinical Affairs
                                     Managing Director of Marketing

Basic Function: This full-time position works to generate sales revenue in the form of sponsorships, affinity partnerships, and advertising for the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT). Functions include forging revenue-generating connections with both individuals and corporate entities to create opportunities that match the strategic priorities of CAMFT with the interests and goals of partners and advertisers. The Sponsorship Sales Manager will work with the executive team to develop a strategy and lead a comprehensive sales program. Specific emphasis will beon raising sponsorship revenue, identifying and solidifying affinity partnerships, overseeing advertising initiatives, and creating integrated advertising and partnership opportunities throughout multiple sponsorship vehicles and CAMFT departments.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sponsorship Sales Strategy

  • Work collaboratively with CAMFT leadership to plan and develop an integrated sponsorship and advertising program
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with affiliated mental health industries and entities for potential partnership opportunities
  • Identify leads, facilitate meetings, and negotiate/manage sponsorship contracts
  • Cultivate and maintain awareness of relevant sponsorship trends and opportunities
  • Participate in industry and business meetings, compile intelligence from these interactions, analyze industry developments to determine new opportunitiesWork with the communications and marketing teams to build a greater public understanding and support for CAMFT’s mission, vision and goals in the industry
  • Effectively represent and offer information about CAMFT, prepare effective and persuasive materials and sales presentations and make presentations to individuals and groups
  • Commit to an initial goal of $400,000 annual revenue from advertising,sponsorships and affinity partnerships

Sponsorship Sales and Management

  • Collaborate with various departments to identify opportunities to create, develop, and sell sponsorship packages
  • Effectively organize and manage integrated, multi-tiered sponsorship initiatives
  • Develop and maintain sponsorship contact details in association management system
  • Responsible for sales of print and online advertising, sponsorships, event exhibit booths, and affinity partnerships Track and report performance of all development activities and prospective sales

Partner Relationships

  • Develop and foster long-term relationships with new and existing sponsors / advertisers and their representatives
  • Establish credibility and trust among partners
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Perform additional related duties and tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven track record and demonstrated ability of generating 6 figures +from sponsorships, advertising, affinity relationships, etc.
  • 4-year degree or 8 years of experience in sales / marketing
  • Preferably 5+ years of experience in leadership roles managing aspects of sponsorship, fundraising and/or development with a non-profit organization
  • Creativity, diplomacy, and ability to navigate among competing stakeholdersVery strong written and oral communications skills; attention to detail
  • Experience working with or in the mental health industry and/or in sales is desirable
  • Existing relationships in the mental health industry highly desirable
  • Experience working with volunteer leaders is desirable
  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting
  • Strong business sense, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Computer literacy in word processing, database management, and applicable software
  • Travel required as necessary to fulfill job tasks (travel expenses reimbursed by CAMFT)
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds

Position Title: Membership and Programs Marketing Manager
Basic Function: The Membership and Programs Marketing Manager is a pivotal position for the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists' operations and future success. In partnership with the Managing Director of Marketing, the Membership and Programs Marketing Manager will assist with the development of short-term and long-term strategic marketing plans and implement campaigns that capitalize on opportunities to target new and existing membership segments, drive revenue, grow market share, and increase brand awareness.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Membership Development

  • Work with Executive Director, Managing Director of Marketing, and other staff to develop full membership lifecycle plan from segmenting and prospecting to solicitation, onboarding, engagement and renewals
  • Project manage the execution of marketing membership programs
  • Analyze and segment membership data in CAMFT’s association management system
  • Write creative promotional copy and manage placement in emails, social media, and web
  • Review and edit additional materials as needed
  • Analyze results of recruitment, retention, and re-enrollment efforts
  • Track multiple projects and provide status updates
  • Represent the association at industry tradeshows, conferences, and exhibits
  • Supervise Marketing Assistant
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Educational Events and Programs

  • Collaborate with the Managing Director of Marketing, and Education and Events Manager to develop comprehensive marketing program for CAMFT’s education and events
  • Project manage the execution of marketing education programs 
  • Analyze and segment membership data in CAMFT’s learning and association management systems
  • Write creative promotional copy and manage placement in emails, social media, and web
  • Review and edit materials as needed
  • Track multiple projects and provide status updates
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Assist in the organization of special events

Other Duties

  • Stay up-to-date with other department projects
  • Responsive to home office (San Diego) through teleconference and occasionally in-person
  • Meet defined performance goals
  • Regular and punctual attendance required to meet essential function of job responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5-8 years of marketing work experience 
  • 5+ years of increasing levels of responsibilities in association, nonprofit, and/or sales management
  • Ability to effectively work autonomously
  • Marriage and Family Therapists and Certified Association Executives encouraged to apply

Reports to:   Managing Director of Marketing

Salary Range:   $78,750 - 85,500 (Exempt)

Location:   San Diego; Remote work possible—California preferred
