I have been a member of CAMFT and SFCAMFT since 2009, and I am currently a Director-at-Large on the CAMFT Board. I sit on the Certified Supervisor Program committee, the AI Task Force, the Policies Task Force, and the 2027 Annual Conference committee. I was honored to help plan the 2025 Annual Conference where we featured a diverse group of presenters who were well received.
I have a private practice with an in-person office in the Mission District of San Francisco and I see clients via telehealth. I have participated in two consultation groups including one for working with Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Clients and one for Clinical Supervisors where I bring the perspective of a Practicum instructor. I have developed and taught several graduate level courses at Golden Gate University where I am also a Faculty Senator. I am Core Faculty at the Western Institute of Social Research.
I would like to continue serving on the Board to help promote transparency through clarifying CAMFT’s policies, to support the goals of CAMFT's strategic plan that help MFTs be better businesspeople, and to advocate for understanding the impact of technology on our profession. I want to better serve all our constituency, particularly our pre-licensed members who often struggle with navigating the myriad aspects of gaining hours in a supportive environment.
I am a direct and clear communicator who does their best to hear all the voices at the table. My ability to synthesize information has been recognized by fellow board members. I hope to amplify voices that are sometimes marginalized or ignored. I am committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
In the near term, I will promote enthusiastic adoption of the digital version of The Therapist and help make it accessible to those who don't prefer the digital version. I will help CAMFT build on our efforts that began with providing a marketing toolkit by promoting trainings that support the business-building aspects of being a therapist. I will contribute to our AI Task Force as we recommend steps that lead our industry in both promoting the ethical use of AI in our work while also safeguarding against the challenges of AI. I will support further efforts to increase transportability of our license including the use of the national exam.
Longer term, I will support CAMFT to continue nurturing MFTs as businesspeople and professionals. I will advocate for CAMFT to be flexible and adaptable to changes in technology, some of which we can't predict. Lastly, I will promote CAMFT and the BBS working together to better oversee practicum sites among reports from pre-licensed therapists of being mistreated while seeking their clinical hours.
I hope to have the pleasure of meeting with you at future events, to hear your ideas and concerns, and to better understand your needs as CAMFT members and therapists.
