New Telehealth RequirementsNEW TELEHEALTH, L&E REQUIREMENTS AND MORE

Two of the biggest updates that Associates need to know include:

Telehealth CE Requirements: Applicants for licensure and current licensees renewing on or after July 1, 2023, are required to complete three (3) hours of training or coursework in the provision of mental health services via telehealth. See the BBS FAQs for more information. Check out CAMFT’s workshop, Key Legal and Ethical Issues in Telehealth which will meet this requirement.

Law & Ethics CE Requirements for Registered Associates: Effective January 1, 2023, the BBS now requires registered associates to complete a minimum of three (3) hours of CE on law and ethics during each registered associate's renewal period (annually) regardless of whether they have passed the California Law & Ethics exam.

There are several other new California laws and regulations effective 2023 that all MFTs should know about, including pre-licensees. CAMFT Staff Attorneys, Ann Tran-Lien and Kristin Roscoe provide a one-hour workshop offering a brief overview of the new laws and changes to the continuing education requirements for MFTs in California. Watch in CAMFT’s On-Demand Library! Anyone can watch the presentation for free – a small fee is required only if you need the CE credits.
