JANUARY 2024 E-NEWSLETTER

Dear Members,

Happy New Year! As we step into 2024, I want to extend my sincerest wishes for a year filled with prosperity, growth, and fulfillment. Your unwavering support and engagement are the cornerstones of our success at CAMFT, and I look forward to the opportunities we will create together in the coming months.

In case you need something to add to your list of New Year’s resolutions, I invite you to view the New Year, New Law & Ethics workshop in our On-Demand Learning Library. It’s 3 hours jam-packed with information about the new regulations going into effect this year, and the steps you’ll need to take to comply with both new California and Federal laws. You’ll also start the year off with 3 CE credits in your pocket!

Speaking of actions you need to take this year, I hope you’ve been busy checking off to-do lists for Medicare enrollment or opt-out paperwork. The Medicare Corner is full of helpful information to guide your decision, whether you choose to opt in or opt out of Medicare. Remember, all LMFT’s must act! To simplify things, our legal team created this one-page MFTs and Medicare flyer that breaks down the two ways you can opt-in; or, if you’re not interested in billing Medicare, how to find and mail the opt-out affidavits.

At CAMFT, we’re dedicating new efforts to elevate the public’s awareness about MFTs.  That includes spreading the word that LMFTs are now eligible Medicare providers. Through prominent media outlets like NPR, we’re actively informing listeners about MFTs’ scope of practice and where to find them.

As we move forward with our strategic priority to increase awareness of MFTs, we're looking for input from you about the clients you see! If you have a few minutes, click here to answer our survey.

Finally, I’m excited to announce that the candidate statements for our 2024-2025 Board of Directors Nominees have been published on our website. Please take the time to get to know our nominees in advance of the March election. Your vote counts!
