I hope everyone is enjoying the summer and taking a little time for rest and self-care. As the summer progresses and our lives continue to shift due to ever-evolving updates on the Coronavirus, CAMFT continues to update our extensive COVID-19 Resources page to support our members.
Our colleagues at the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) are also working hard to put helpful and relevant processes in place as the world of mental health treatment evolves. Recently, the BBS’s Telehealth Committee announced that they are gathering data regarding the practice of mental health services via telehealth and supervision via videoconferencing for associates, trainees, and post-graduates pursuing LMFT, LPCC or LCSW licensure. The Telehealth Committee is seeking feedback about these issues so that the Board may gain insight about how practice will move forward AFTER the COVID-19 pandemic has ended, and will use this information when considering potential law changes.
