As COVID restrictions lessen and we enjoy more face-to-face time with our friends and colleagues, I’ve been reflecting on the importance of both personal and professional relationships. Some of CAMFT’s most important professional relationships are legislators and policy makers. During the pandemic, CAMFT’s network continues to grow as we educate policy makers about the vital role that you play in their communities. Our Political Action Committees (PACs) are important, and essential, tools to facilitate meaningful interactions with legislators.
The CAMFT California and Federal PACs raise and distribute campaign funds to support candidates who champion MFTs and mental health care advancement. CAMFT’s PACs are important because they allow CAMFT’s advocacy team to meet and foster relationships with legislators and policy makers. The one-on-one time at these events provides an opportunity to educate legislators and stakeholders about MFTs and behavioral health issues, allowing us to support candidates who share CAMFT’s values.
CAMFT needs your assistance to help build and support our relationships with legislators. Contributing to CAMFT’s state and federal PACs can make a real difference in both state and federal elections. Your contribution sends a message to candidates that MFTs are united, and provides an opportunity to positively impact the election of candidates who recognize and support timely access to high quality care.

The CAMFT Certified Supervisor Program (CSP) goes above and beyond the BBS Requirements for Supervision. The skills needed to be an effective supervisor are different from the skills needed to be an effective clinician. The CAMFT Certified Supervisor Program provides the training you need to be fully prepared to guide clinicians-in-training.
