Dear Members,

As we enter the holiday season, I am writing to you about the importance of donating to CAMFT’s State and Federal Political Action Committees (PACs).  In 2022, there are two important statewide and federal mid-term elections, and both CAMFT PACs are at their lowest levels of funding in at least 5 years.

Our PAC efforts raise and distribute campaign funds to candidates who support MFTs and share the same vision for behavioral health care. Our PACs are indispensable tools in government affairs efforts, used to build and maintain relationships with policy makers. 

As MFTs and mental health providers, you know the value and importance of professional relationships, especially when you are working to achieve a goal or resolve an issue.  In the advocacy world, political relationships are often established through a PAC. At PAC events, our team meets and fosters relationships with legislators. The one-on-one time at these events provide an opportunity to educate policy makers about MFTs, and behavioral health issues. 

CAMFT needs your assistance to help build our relationships with legislators. Contributing to the CAMFT PACs makes a real difference in both federal and state elections. Your contributions send a message to candidates that MFTs are united, and provides an opportunity to positively impact the election of candidates who recognize and support MFTs.

I encourage you to join me in contributing $50 each to the State and Federal PACs. It is critical that MFTs maintain their voice in the legislative process. If a contribution of that size is out of reach, even a contribution of $10 each can help. If you want to donate more consistently to the PACs, consider setting up a monthly contribution of any size for the State and Federal PACs. Every donation makes a difference!
