September 2019 E-NEWSLETTER

Dear Members,

As we head into September, I always remember how excited I was as a kid to go back to school. How I loved (and still love) reading and learning! While most CAMFT members are not going back to school, being an MFT means lifelong learning. I’m thrilled to share with you some of our live education events this fall.

CAMFT’s first Pre-Licensee Conference and Job Fair at Pepperdine University’s Malibu campus has sold out! Thank you to our co-sponsors Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology, CPH & Associates, SimplePractice, TrackYourHours, Ben Caldwell Labs, and Brighter Vision for helping us bring together this amazing day. We are thrilled to see the high level of interest in this event.

Join us at the Crowne Plaza Concord Walnut Creek on October 4-6 for our Comprehensive Supervision Workshop Series. This is the first time the three-day event will be offered in northern California. Clinicians can earn up to 18 CE hours with the workshop series AND apply it toward the coursework requirements to become a CAMFT Certified Supervisor! Or, you can register for one day to fulfill the 6 CE hours required by the BBS for Clinical Supervisors. It’s going to be a great weekend of learning and camaraderie. Learn more and register today.

Looking ahead, November brings our Fall Symposium to the Hilton/Irvine Orange County Airport. This event will offer a variety of workshops covering Emotionally Focused Therapy, Chart Writing, Telehealth Ethical Considerations, and Anger Management. Don’t miss this opportunity to network with your colleagues and gain up to 12 CEs before the holiday rush hits. Learn more and register today.

Wishing everyone a wonderful back-to-school and back-to-work season!

Regards,
Nabil El-Ghoroury, Ph.D., Executive Director

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE BBS

The BBS is currently conducting an occupational survey for the LMFT exams. These surveys, conducted every 5 – 7 years, are critical to the examination development process because they allow the BBS to fully assess current practices in the profession and thereby develop relevant examinations.

Click this link to participate in the occupational survey. And thank you!

Advocacy

CAMFT recently lobbied in Sacramento with the #healthcare coalition advocating for exemption on #AB5. Read more here.
