Meet the Pre-Licensed Committee

 

Rebecca Hines, AMFT and CAMFT Pre-Licensed Director at LargeRebecca Hines, AMFT and CAMFT Pre-Licenced Director at Large, went back to school after a long career in marketing/advertising and received her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. She is excited to be less than 200 hours away from fulfilling her 3,000 hours for the BBS! Rebecca believes that everyone deserves access to quality mental health care and is dedicated to helping marginalized and underserved populations. She is specializing in trauma resolution, and also enjoys working with couples, especially when unresolved trauma for one or both partners is impacting their relationship. Currently, Rebecca splits her time between a community mental health clinic in Oakland, CA and a small group practice in Sonoma, CA.


​Joanna Farah, MFT TraineeJoanna Farah, MFT Trainee, is currently studying clinical psychology at Antioch University and transitioning into a new career in Somatic psychotherapy after more than a decade in the corporate world. An East Coast native, Joanna is happily settled in Long Beach, CA, and is completing her traineeship hours working with adults & adolescents in an outpatient mental health treatment program specializing in dual diagnosis, mental health, and substance abuse. She loves learning and refining her clinical skills and is passionate about facilitating healing experiences for others - to not only move beyond trauma but to cultivate joyful resilience.


Hamaseh Kianfar, LMFT, Ed.D.Hamaseh Kianfar, LMFT, Ed.D. has worked with the criminal justice department, psychiatric emergency, and in community mental health for over 18 years. In addition, she is a trained facilitator in a number of curricula, including Parenting from the Inside Out, Thinking for a Change, Seeking Safety, Criminal conduct and substance abuse, and Anger Management. Hamaseh currently works as a Licensed Behavioral Health Practitioner for the County of Marin's Behavioral Health and Human Services and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of San Francisco.


Maureen Houtz, LMFTMaureen Houtz, LMFT, brings many years of experience to the Pre-Licensed committee. Since her licensure in 1986, Maureen has taught at the university level, supervised Associates, worked as a subject matter expert for the BBS, mentored other LMFTs, and directed a counseling center. Currently, Maureen lives and works in Long Beach and is serving her second term on the CAMFT Board of Directors as one of the Clinical Directors-at-Large. Maureen is also running for the President of CAMFT’s Board of Directors.


Magdalena Werne, AMFT, provides therapy services to clients in a private practice setting under supervision of a licensed professional. She specializes in working with adults who have survived childhood maltreatment and traumas. She is passionate about Brainspotting and Internal Family Systems and hopes to one day open her own private practice. Magdalena has recently begun Internal Family Systems Level Two Training, and Positive Psychology is a developing interest. Magdalena became a mental health clinician to help individuals and family systems increase healthier connections to the self and the other. She enjoys swimming, mountain trails, gardening, and spending time with her dog, Leo.
