ALERT! PHONE SCAM TARGETING THERAPISTS

Therapists have reported that they are still receiving scam calls from people pretending to be police officers claiming a warrant is out for the arrest of therapist due to failure to appear as an expert witness in a trial. The calls appear to be coming from LAPD, from Fresno PD, or from other local police departments. The scam callers, posing as police officers, explain that the therapist can pay a warrant fee by sending a wire transfer or money order. Several CAMFT members, as well as CPH, have confirmed these reports. If you receive such a call, do not engage further with the caller, and contact your local police department.
