Board Highlights December 2022

The following notes highlight discussion and action from the December 2-4, 2022 CAMFT Board of Directors meeting, held in Temecula, CA.

Strategic Plan

The Board reviewed the final draft of CAMFT’s proposed strategic plan. The plan provides three key goals for the organization. 

  • Goal #1: Increase CAMFT's advocacy efforts to increase the pipeline of potential MFTs and expand opportunities for MFTs.
  • Goal #2: Increase CAMFT’s brand and membership value by (1) promoting members as the publicly recognized and preferred mental health provider and (2) expanding CAMFT’s position as the essential resource for members. 
  • Goal #3: Prioritize the application of technology to streamline access for clients and simplify practice for therapists. 

The entire strategic plan along with the corresponding metrics can be found here. The plan budget is $985,000, which will be funded by CAMFT’s opportunity fund. The Board unanimously approved CAMFT’s new strategic plan, which will begin January 1, 2023, and conclude on December 31, 2024.

Financial Report:

The Board reviewed financials for the current year through October 2022. CAMFT’s financial position is strong, with revenue ahead of budget while expenses are below bud margin-right: 40px;"get. CAMFT’s net operational revenue (revenue minus expenses) is $817,463. Investments are down 12.26% for the period. 

The Board reviewed and approved the proposed 2023 budget per the Finance Committee’s recommendations.

The Board discussed and unanimously approved CAMFT’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) statement. The statement is published on CAMFT’s website

The next Board meeting will be held on March 3-5, 2022, in Sacramento, CA.
