Dear Members,
Happy February! I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. Most licensed therapists should qualify for the COVID-19 vaccine as behavioral health providers in the state of California at this time. Check out CAMFT’s COVID-19 Resources - Vaccine Information webpage for details.
It is election time at CAMFT. To see the candidates who are up for election this term, click here.
For the first time ever, electronic voting is available! Electronic voting was approved by members in the 2020 Bylaws amendment election, and we’re excited to offer an electronic option this election cycle.
Thank you to the over 5,000 members who signed up for our “Go Green” campaign to receive electronic ballots! Electronic voting is going to be so easy. You’ll get an email with an individualized link that takes you directly to your ballot, and you’ll be able to click on links to learn more about the candidates and read their statements. Once you make your selections and hit submit, your ballot link cannot be used again. If you forget to vote right away, you’ll get reminder emails to click and vote.
Don’t worry, if you didn’t sign up for electronic voting, you can still opt-in! Simply follow the instructions on your paper ballot to use your dedicated code to vote electronically. You’ll be able to vote electronically in this election and also opt-in to “Go Green” to receive future ballots and official membership communications electronically. (Remember, opting-in to “Go Green” will not impact the way you receive The Therapist magazine.)
In the 2021 environment, I would encourage everyone to try to vote electronically. I don’t know about you, but I received several holiday cards postmarked in early December 2020 that arrived over a month later. Electronic voting is your best chance to ensure that your vote is counted.
You will see on the ballot that there are three vacancies for Clinical Director at Large currently. CAMFT will open applications for these vacancies soon, and the 2021 Board will vote to appoint in early June. Please be on the lookout for this deadline, and please consider applying.
Wishing everyone health and wellness!
