MARCH 2023 E-NEWSLETTER

Dear Members,

With March comes spring, a time I associate with transition as the days grow longer and (hopefully) warmer. CAMFT’s transition to spring is full of exciting news and events as we continue to focus on the advancement of the profession.

First, I am happy to share registration for CAMFT’s Annual Conference is now open! I look forward to meeting MFTs from across the state as we convene in Santa Clara, California on May 5-6. You’ll find sessions that will inspire, encourage, and motivate you as you earn up to 17 CEs. TV personality, radio host and author Dr. Jenn Mann, LMFT will provide you with new clinical skills in her opening keynote session, “The Relationship Fix.” Dr. Bryant Marks will challenge you to think differently in your approach to the practice in his session “The Hidden Biases of Good People: Implications for Marriage and Family Therapists.” Take advantage of the experience beyond the sessions as peer-to-peer interactions deliver another opportunity for career growth and fulfillment. With over 30 sessions in topical areas including couples, neurodiversity, and Brainspotting, there’s something for everyone! Early bird registration discount ends today, March 10^th, so register now!   

Spring is also a time for spring cleaning. CAMFT has started its own version of spring cleaning with the Bylaws Committee having their first meeting in over a year. A best practice for associations includes the review of our bylaws at least every 5 years to make sure the document is both current and relevant.  While minor updates have been made more recently, the Committee is beginning a broader review.  More updates for membership engagement on this process will be shared in the coming months. 

Finally, I wish to remind all members to vote for the CAMFT Board of Directors. Be sure to vote online or mail your ballot early enough to be received by the March 16th deadline!
