Sponsorships

Tip: Find More Money for Your Chapter in Print and Digital from Sponsors

  • Sponsored content is a fantastic way to increase a Chapter’s revenue stream
  • The key is to make sure that the company that is advertising in your newsletter, e-blats, or on your website creates content that is informative or helpful to your members
  • The right type of content plays a huge role in driving member engagement, which, in turn, generates ad revenue.
  • Be sure to personalize content to your members and you’ll add value to the recipients and to the sponsor of the content.
  • E-Newsletters offer the unique opportunity to share specific insights and details with your sponsors and advertisers. The ability to share metrics like opens, reach, and clicks, brings additional value to your sponsors to understand the return on their investment in your association.

Tip: California Labor Laws that Affect MFT Pre-Licensees and Employers

  • Please share with your Pre-Licensed members
  • Throughout the years, CAMFT has provided our interpretation of pertinent California labor laws, as well as suggestions and recommendations to employers and Pre-Licensed members on the employment issues fundamental to the LMFT profession. In 2019, CAMFT’s Board of Directors issued a statement calling on employers to pay Associates a living wage as a best practice. California’s labor and employment laws are complex, and employers of pre-licensees are held to an even higher standard by BBS when employing pre-licensees. The following information may be helpful as you navigate the complexities of Pre-Licensed employment.

Technology/Website/Social Media

Tip: How to Protect Your Computer While Using Public Wi-Fi

Using free public Wi-Fi at a coffee shop or an airport may be convenient, but it can also be dangerous. Most public places that offer free Wi-Fi don’t use encryption to secure their Wi-Fi networks. It’s important to remember that when you connect to public Wi-Fi networks, you will be sharing the networks with other people.

Some technology allows you to view the wireless computer communications that are within range of your device. Unfortunately, cybercriminals can use this technology to see what you do on your devices, as well as the data you share with websites.

However, there are a couple of precautions you can take to help protect your devices while connecting to public Wi-Fi networks:

  • Look for website URLs that include HTTPS at the beginning of the URL. The “S” at the end of HTTPS means “secure.” These types of websites are encrypted, which helps protect your information.
  • If your organization offers a virtual private network (VPN), use it! VPNs encrypt all your wireless communications on the device that you’re using. Even if you are accessing a website without HTTPS, your communication will be secured through your VPN.
  • You can use a wireless device from your cell phone provider instead. 3G and 4G network access are different from Wi-Fi, and this network access is not subject to Wi-Fi security policies.

Before working in a public place, ask your IT department about your organization’s data security policies, how to set up your VPN connection, or how to obtain a 3G or 4G cellular network card.!
