Dear Chapter Leaders,

One of my greatest pleasures during the month of November is to share with you, my thanks for all you do for your Chapters. I appreciate all the late nights and your tireless efforts despite your heavy workload and family commitments. I am fortunate to work with all of you. Thank you!

    • All attendees must be 18+ years of age

    • CAMFT provides one hotel room per Chapter. Click here to request a room
    • Chapters needing multiple additional rooms, please reach out to mchampion@camft.org by Dec 1, so that we can check with the hotel on availability and a discounted rate.

Annual Reports: Due on February 28, 2025  

  • In order to be compliant, Chapters are required to provide an Annual Report to CAMFT
  • Recommendations:
    • Assign reports per board position, so that the President is not responsible for all the reports
    • Work on the reports this year, while the information is fresh and access is easily available, rather than waiting until next year when board members have termed out, or the information is no longer easily accessible
    • Reports needed are: General, Membership, Financial, Events, DEIA+, and Pre-Licensed
    • To save you time drafting lengthy reports, links to a form with a few questions are provided
    • Some database reports are needed (member roster, financial reports, and list of events)
  • The reports may be emailed all together OR separately to mchampion@camft.org

CAMFT Resource: Speaker Resource List

  • It is NOT mandatory to use these presenters for your Chapter presentations 
  • Staff created a Chapter Speaker Resource List in response to requests from chapters needing speaker references
  • The list is composed of all the chapters’ monthly e-blast submissions since 2019
  • CAMFT does not endorse any speakers on the list
  • The list was posted to the Events Listserv on Oct 28, 2024
  • If you would like to be added to the Events Listserv, or need a copy, contact mchampion@camft.org

Presidents-Elect: Encourage your 2025 Board to attend the Chapter Leadership Conference (CLC)

  • None of us has enough time anymore
  • How do associations/chapters compete in an environment like this? Well, one way is to differentiate
  • Professionals need to connect. Create the space, place, and environment to enable connections like these

Treasurers/CFOs/Bookkeepers

Plan ahead: Annual Reports are due on February 28, 2025

Secretaries:  Share your 2025 Board roster ASAP after your election

  • As soon as we have a list of your new board members, we can add them to our leader database, so they  have access to register for the CLC
  •  Provide in Excel format: Please include names, positions, emails (Should be the email that they are monitoring frequently; could be other than chapter email)
  • Email to: mchampion@camft.org

Reminder: Budget for your Board’s CLC 2025 travel, accommodation, and parking

  • Yes! Budgeting for your board members to attend is a legitimate expense
  • CAMFT provides:
    • Free registration to all Chapter board members and committee chairs
    • Friday reception and Saturday breakfast, lunch, and breaks to all attendees
    • A hotel room for the chapter President on Friday evening
  • The chapter is responsible for:
    • Additional hotel room nights for the President (other than Friday evening)
    • Hotel rooms for any other board members and committee chairs attending
    • Flight & ground transportation for the President, board members, and committee chairs attending
    • Parking: It is $39/day (discounted)
    • Uber/Taxi fees: The event is at the Hilton, San Jose, approximately 15 minutes from the San Jose airport

NO CHANGE from 2024

  • State of the Profession (SOP) – In-Person
    • Chapters are eligible to receive one in-person presentation in 2025
    • Since the presentation is only a 1 CE/90- minute presentation, Chapters are encouraged to combine it with e.g., their Annual Meeting, Lunch & Learn, “Meet the Board” reception, or Pre-Licensed event
    • Dates are available on a first-come, first-served basis

  • Law & Ethics (L&E) Webinars – Revenue Share Program
    • The L&E revenue share program was a huge success, so it will continue in 2025
    • To date, the Chapters participating in the program received over $16,000 in total

  • Law & Ethics(L&E) – In-Person

  • Registration will be through CAMFT and Chapters are encouraged to promote the webinar to their members
  • The RTL webinar is scheduled for April 11, 2025, at 9:00 am - Noon
  • BONUS #1: CAMFT members may attend for free. Updates will be provided through the Chapter Leader e-newsletters here
