LMFTs Needed at the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS)

Kim Madsen, Executive Officer at the BBS, recently wrote to CAMFT to inform members that the Governor’s Appointment Office does not have a sufficient number of applicants, specifically LMFTs and Public Members, to consider for appointment to the BBS. They are reaching out to CAMFT members in hopes that they will receive additional applications and possible appointments to the board.

The Board has the following Governor Appointment vacancies: 1-LMFT Member and 4-public members.

Click here to submit an application for consideration. Please share with any individual you feel is interested and would be a strong contributor to the Board’s work. The BBS is a working board -meaning that the members are actively involved in the Board’s mandate to protect the public. Board members may anticipate 10-20 hours a month working on board business. In addition to the application, it is helpful to obtain recommendations in support of the application. These letters may be from community leaders, professional associations, and legislators.

For further information, members may contact Kim Madsen directly at kim.madsen@dca.ca.gov.
