Board Highlights June 2025 

The following notes highlight discussion and action from the CAMFT Board of Directors meeting, June 7- 8, 2025, in Carlsbad, CA.  

Chapter to Chapter Reception:
The CAMFT Board invited Board and local chapter leadership and members from the Desert, Inland Empire, Orange County, San Diego, San Diego North County, and Southwest Riverside County chapters to an informal reception. The reception was well attended. These gatherings allow greater interaction from members at the local level with the CAMFT Board.    

Financial Report:  
The Board reviewed CAMFT’s financial statements through April 2025, including balances, revenue and expense variations, and investments. Through the first four months total revenue is above budget, while expenses are below budget, resulting in an overall net positive. Investments continue to show a net gain. The financial report was approved.

Strategic Plan Update:
The Board discussed technology updates, how CAMFT can utilize AI, and reviewed a proposed 5-year plan. The Board also received an update on CAMFT’s overall strategic initiatives in advocacy and awareness and professional success.

Therapist Magazine:
The Board reviewed the general new design format for the transition of the Therapist magazine to a digital format by 2026.

Executive Director Update:
The Board was updated on staff operations including state and federal advocacy, as well as ethics and bylaws communications.

AI Workgroup Taskforce:
The Board approved the formation of an AI Workgroup Taskforce to provide feedback, insight and support of CAMFT technology plans.

The next Board meeting will be held September 6-7 in Santa Barbara, CA.
