Dear Chapter Leaders,

April is National Volunteer Month, and one of the most exciting times of the year for me to thank all of you for everything you do for your chapters on a daily basis. THANK YOU!

A special thank you also for providing the Annual Reports each year. The information provided is very valuable in planning support for Chapters and will be shared with all of you and the State Board throughout the year.

Here are a few ideas on how to reach out to and thank your volunteers during National Volunteer Week, APRIL 20-26, 2025: Playbook/Section VI (g)

April Highlights:

  • Make the plunge! Join the Chapter Advisory Council. The deadline to volunteer to join the CAC or any other CAMFT committee is April 15. Refer to ALL POSITIONS for more information
  • Chapter Agreement update. Refer to ALL POSITIONS for more information
  • The Chapter calendar and Newsletter Archive are always included for you to review at your leisure

  • Your Chapter should have a signed copy from the previous update in 2020-2021. If you don’t have a copy, please let m e know at mchampion@camft.org

  • If you would like your chapter highlighted, please send a short write-up (no need for a lengthy write-up, a few sentences will suffice) about:
    • An event (past or future)
    • Your board retreats
    • A committee
    • DEI initiative
    • Joining your chapter
    • Achievements of late
    • Anything you want the membership to know about your chapter

    • To allow for shortfalls in revenue and /or unforeseen expenses
    • To build funds for capital expansion

Tip: Chapter CE Responsibilities

  • CAMFT approves the Provider (Chapter) not the Course
  • The Provider (Chapter) approves the Course:
    • Chapters must require the following from potential Presenters. A course proposal that must contain:
    • Scope of Practice Identified
    • Citations
    • Measurable Goals and Objectives
    • Course Syllabus

2025 Presentations: 2025 CAMFT Presentations offered to Chapters

  • State of the Profession (SOP) – In-Person  
    • All income generated belongs to the Chapter
    • Chapters are responsible for all expenses (except Presenter travel and accommodation)
    • Chapters are eligible to receive one in-person presentation in 2025
    • Since the presentation is only a 1 CE/90- minute presentation, Chapters are encouraged to combine it with e.g., their Annual Meeting, Lunch & Learn, “Meet the Board” reception, or Pre-Licensed event
    • Dates are available on a first-come, first-served basis

  • Law & Ethics (L&E) – In-Person
    • All income generated belongs to the Chapter
    • Chapters are responsible for all expenses (except Presenter travel and accommodation)
    • Certain criteria apply- click here to view 
    • Spots are limited ~ Dates are available on a first-come, first-served basis
    • The presentations will be available April - December 2025

Pre-Licensed member recruitment: Use the CAMFT Job Board as a "carrot"

  • Remind potential Pre-Licensee chapter members that if they join CAMFT, they will have access to the CAMFT's Member Only Job Board!
  • Their CAMFT username and password are required to view job listings
  • To find paying jobs for Pre-Licensed MFTs, select "Paid Associate-ship" from the "Select Job Type" drop down menu here

Reminder: Free Membership– IRS regulations

  • The IRS has ruled that nonprofit organizations (including 501c (6) and 501c (3) organizations cannot charge some members no dues (or minimal dues) compared to other members of the organization

Reminder: Membership rosters due to CAMFT monthly 

  • If your chapter has opted into the L&E Revenue Share program, you need to provide us with a member roster the first week of every month
